galeria MILANO

Galeria Milano, located across from the National Stadium of Poland at Rondo Waszyngtona and opposite park Skaryszewski. Opened in 1989, Galeria Milano is a pioneer in the development of the artistic atmosphere of the popular and friendly district of Saska Kępa.

It's founder - Elizabeth Kochanek-van Dijk, concentrates her collection of contemporary art by presenting renowned artists of the middle generation as well as giving space to 'the young and promising'. Milano is a gallery where artists can present themselves in a safe atmosphere and meet patrons in a community with a passion for the arts.

Among the artists who are granted solo exhibitions, are young debutantes whose work is truly remarkable. The originality of these new artists, their way of thinking about their generation and their work refreshes the face of contemporary art in Poland and with this, the ever changing look of the gallery.

Over the years the gallery has developed a certain reputation: it is known for its high level exhibitions and the informal ambiance created by its staff and even more so by its patrons. They are most responsible for the easy-going character of the gallery.

In addition to its exhibitions, gallery Milano provides consultancies to 'first buyers' as well as to professionals in the world of the arts. The gallery promotes interaction between the cultural and economic sector, participates in a variety of cultural events in Warsaw, provides lectures to scholars, hosts literary events and is known for its annual competitions on artistic jewellery design in December.

Galeria Milano is about artists that are expressive in their work, artists that share emotions, ideas, observations and their feeling for aesthetics. Galeria Milano invites you into the arts.
